AWS announced new tools for building with generative AI. The first new tool is Amazon Bedrock, which is a new service that makes Foundation Models (FMs) from AI21 Labs, Anthropic, Stability AI, and Amazon accessible via an APIBedrock is the easiest way for businesses to build and scale generative AI-based applications using FMs, democratizing access for all builders. Bedrock will offer the ability to access a range of powerful FMs for text and images—including Amazon’s Titan FMs, which consist of two new large language models (LLMs) announced with Amazon Bedrock.

The company also announced Amazon CodeWhisperer (GA),a real-time AI coding companion that now provides a perpetual free tier for individual developers. Amazon CodeWhisperer helps developers write secure code with built-in security scanning features and supports the responsible use of AI by providing a reference tracker that displays licensing information for code recommendations. 

Deloitte announced a new practice designed to help clients harness the power of Generative AI and Foundation Models to enhance productivity and accelerate the pace of business innovation. The new practice combines the services, AI talent, and deep industry experience that enterprise leaders need as they design their Generative AI strategies and leverage the new technology to create innovative AI-fueled applications.

Real-time analytics news in brief

Alibaba Cloud unveiled its latest large language model, Tongyi Qianwen. With Chinese and English language capabilities, the model will first be deployed on DingTalk, Alibaba’s digital collaboration workplace and application development platform, and Tmall Genie, a provider of IoT-enabled smart home appliances.

Apptio announced it is launching Cloudability Government, a cloud financial management (FinOps) solution that helps public sector organizations make data-driven decisions about cloud investments across all major cloud service providers. Further, the entire Cloudability product family has achieved Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) authorization.

BigID announced the launch of its ML-powered solution for finding duplicate and similar data content. The technology uses AI to locate both similar and duplicate data on any data set, identifying duplicate data as well as redundant, obsolete, or trivial (ROT) data. These capabilities help organizations reduce their storage cost, accelerate compliance, and improve cybersecurity.

Buoyant, creator of Linkerd, the CNCF’s only graduated service mesh, announced the release of Linkerd 2.13. This release introduces dynamic request routing based on the Kubernetes Gateway API, circuit breaking for overloaded services, a FIPS-compatible version for government users, and a set of free security and reliability extensions for all Linkerd users through Buoyant Cloud, Buoyant’s automated Linkerd platform. 

Camunda launched Camunda Platform 8.2, offering several integration and user experience updates that dramatically improve the entire process development lifecycle. Key enhancements include support for Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform for deploying Camunda Platform 8 Self-Managed, development clusters in Camunda Platform 8 SaaS that support running unlimited processes and decisions outside of a production environment, out-of-the-box inbound Connectors for Github.com and HTTP Webhooks, and more.

Cerbos announced Cerbos Cloud, a managed service offering for Cerbos. Cerbos is an open-source authorization layer to easily implement roles and permissions in software applications. It separates authorization logic from the core application code, making the authorization layers more scalable, more secure, and easier to change as the complexity grows. Cerbos Cloud streamlines the implementation and management of authorization policies.

CloudFabrix announced the availability of its Observability Data Modernization Service for its RDA platform. This service transforms, enriches, and maps Non-OTel signals to OTel signals that can be used by CloudFabix AIOPs as well as any other OTel-compliant backend platforms. This enables several operational domains’ MELT signals to be ingested with full-stack service maps, enrichment, and Telemetry.

Kalray announced the release of ngenea2, the new version of its open data management and orchestration platform for data-centric applications. Leveraging Kalray’s Data Processor Unit (DPU) acceleration cards and Kalray’s pixstor software-defined storage solution, ngenea2 addresses the challenges faced by a growing number of companies across all industries to be able to process, store, and manage their data faster, more efficiently, and more securely.

Kyligence announced the general availability of Kyligence Zen, a Metrics Platform that centralizes all types of metrics into a unified catalog system. With Kyligence Zen, users can build a common data language across an entire organization for trusted and consistent key metrics. It is an all-in-one solution that simplifies the management of metrics and lowers costs by using a single platform.

ngrok announced the ngrok Ingress Controller for Kubernetes. It lets developers easily and securely create ingress to their production workloads running in Kubernetes. To that end, it pushes traffic ingestion and middleware behaviors like OAuth, mutual TLS, and load balancing to ngrok’s global network, which blocks unauthenticated users and mitigates network attacks before they ever reach the origin networks.

PagerDuty announced the general availability of PagerDuty AIOps, a solution that delivers end-to-end automation, from event ingestion through auto-remediation, to reliably process high volumes of data and events and resolve incidents quickly. PagerDuty AIOps leverages machine learning and proprietary AI to optimize PagerDuty’s foundational data model, reducing complexity, automating more of the incident response process, and preventing costly incidents.

Slingshot announced a new Data Catalog solution to enable everyday business users to easily see what data their organization possesses, access and analyze it the moment they need it, and use it to guide informed business decisions. Using Slingshot’s new Data Catalog, companies can now bring together all data sources in one place, allowing teams to easily generate visual snapshots of their work in real-time or over time.

Partnerships, collaborations, and more

Armis announced a strategic partnership and integration with TrueFort. The collaboration empowers customers by enriching the discovery, understanding, and enforcement of security policies for IT, Internet of Things (IoT), and operational technology (OT) environments.

C3 AI announced it is partnering with AWS to deliver enhanced generative AI for the enterprise. To that end, C3 AI is integrating AWS’s recently announced generative AI capabilities within the C3 AI Platform and applications to provide new capabilities and experiences for its joint customers.

Canonical, the publisher of Ubuntu, announced that Charmed Kubeflow is now available as a software appliance on the AWS Marketplace. With the appliance, users can now launch and manage their machine learning workloads hassle-free using Charmed Kubeflow on AWS. This reduces deployment time and eases operations, providing an easy-to-install MLOps toolkit on the public cloud.

Cohesity announced an expanded relationship with Microsoft that is focused on helping enterprises globally broaden and harden data security. To that end, Cohesity Cloud Services are now available on Azure, empowering Microsoft customers to easily protect and secure their data across hybrid environments.

Conga announced that it has achieved Amazon Web Services (AWS) Advanced Technology Partner status and is now also available for purchase in AWS Marketplace. The availability of Conga’s Revenue Lifecycle Management solutions in AWS Marketplace expands Conga’s customer use cases, helping more customers innovate and transform their business on AWS.

Dataiku announced that it has achieved a Google Cloud Ready – AlloyDB designation. With seamless integration capabilities between Dataiku and AlloyDB, customers can now unlock the full potential of their AI solutions and derive more value from their data, accelerating insights and driving business success.

In other Dataiku news, the company and Genpact announced a strategic alliance to help organizations accelerate artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) initiatives to transform their businesses at scale.

Deepnote announced an integration with Dremio. Dremio enables users to store data in an open lakehouse architecture and supplement it by joining tables from different data connections. Deepnote users can then run SQL queries against these datasets directly from their notebooks and use the results to build interactive, presentation-ready charts with zero code.

IBM announced it has acquired Ahana, a software-as-a-service (SaaS)-based provider of PrestoDB. The company said that its acquisition of Ahana is in line with its strategy to invest in open-source projects and foundations. To that end, IBM will join the Presto Foundation and aid in the development of PrestoDB.

Siemens and Microsoft are partnering to harness the power of generative artificial intelligence (AI) to help industrial companies drive innovation and efficiency. To enhance cross-functional collaboration, the companies are integrating Siemens’ Teamcenter software for product lifecycle management (PLM) with Microsoft’s collaboration platform Teams and the language models in Azure OpenAI Service as well as other Azure AI capabilities.

UiPath announced the launch of the UiPath Business Automation Platform as a pre-built solution for the Manufacturing Data Cloud, launched by Snowflake. The Manufacturing Data Cloud enables companies in automotive, technology, energy, and industrial sectors to unlock the value of their critical siloed industrial data by leveraging Snowflake’s data platform, Snowflake- and partner-delivered solutions, and industry-specific datasets.

WalkMe announced it has achieved Ready status for the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) at a Moderate impact level. With this achievement, WalkMe becomes the first digital adoption platform provider listed on the FedRAMP Marketplace as the company advances its existing position in accelerating federal agencies’ technology modernization and IT transformation.
