Jakob Freund is the CEO of Camunda, which enables organizations to orchestrate processes across people, systems, and devices. Jakob is responsible for the company's vision, strategy, and culture and is the driving force behind Camunda's global growth. He founded Camunda with Bernd Rücker in 2008 to help organizations become more productive and efficient by providing the process orchestration capabilities that are essential for enterprise automation. Jakob was drawn to starting his own software business as a boy after reading a biography of Bill Gates and admiring his early work at Microsoft. He spent ten years in the Boy Scouts, which taught him some early lessons about leadership and influenced how he runs his company today. He holds an MSc in Computer Science, co-authored the book "Real-Life BPMN," and is a sought-after speaker at technology and industry events.
