The Apache Cassandra Project has released 4.1 of Apache Cassandra, the open-source, highly performant, distributed NoSQL database. The new release is part of Cassandra’s annual release schedule and makes the database both easier to use for end users and easier to onboard key development requests from the community. Apache Cassandra is an Apache Software Foundation project. This latest release emphasizes externalizing important key functions into a pluggable interface, allowing developers to extend Cassandra without altering the stable core code. Organizations using Cassandra can be more selective about how each combination of features is deployed and can add a layer of flexibility to future use cases that may not exist today. This includes storage engine choice, security components, schema, and user management.
IBM announced it is working with the Cloud Security Alliance to further advance security and risk management of cloud within financial services. Building on IBM’s mission to reduce the risk for the industry, the IBM Cloud Framework for Financial Services is designed to help businesses automate their security and compliance posture. The framework is central to IBM Cloud for Financial Services, a cloud with built-in security and compliance controls to help clients mitigate risk, tackle ongoing regulations, and accelerate cloud adoption. It has been mapped to the Cloud Security Alliance’s Cloud Controls Matrix (CCM) – a cybersecurity control framework for cloud computing, which can help clients to drive innovation faster while addressing third- and fourth-party risk in cloud. With the alignment, organizations that have adopted CSA’s controls can now use services or transact with SaaS providers on IBM Cloud for Financial Services with confidence.
Google Cloud announced that AlloyDB for PostgreSQL, a fully managed, PostgreSQL-compatible database service to modernize demanding enterprise database workloads, is now generally available. The solution combines full PostgreSQL compatibility with the best of Google: scale-out compute and storage, integrated analytics, and AI/ML-powered management.
Axelera AI announced its Metis AI Platform, encompassing the Metis AI Processing Unit (AIPU) chip and the Voyager SDK software stack to accelerate computer vision processing at the edge. Products will be available in different form factors, including an Edge M.2 acceleration card and a PCIe card. The software stack, Voyager SDK, includes an integrated compiler, a runtime stack and optimization tools that enable customers to import their own models to the Metis AI platform.
Beijing Flywheel Data Technology Co. has announced the official launch of SelectDB Cloud – a new cloud data warehouse designed to help organizations boost their data analytics effectiveness. SelectDB Cloud is a cloud-native real-time data warehouse based on the open resource database Apache Doris. SelectDB Cloud is available on multiple clouds and has been launched on AWS, Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud, and Huawei Cloud.
insightsoftware announced the release of Jet Analytics Cloud. This launch is a managed services offering of insightsoftware’s Jet Analytics reporting and analytics solution. Jet Analytics Cloud combines these flagship services with turnkey managed hosting, regular upgrades, and reduced IT costs. The shift to the cloud makes Jet Analytics available via a SaaS model hosted on Microsoft’s Azure public cloud. The solution is compatible with multiple Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms, including Microsoft Dynamics.

Aiven announced that its new real-time data warehouse service, Aiven for ClickHouse, is now generally available for production-grade usage. Since the introduction of the beta version of the service, Aiven has worked with the beta testers to iron out all glitches and implement new capabilities. ClickHouse is now a fully supported member in the set of integrated, open-source data services provided on the platform.
Canonical, the publisher of Ubuntu, announced today that Canonical Kubernetes 1.26 is now generally available for both distributions, Charmed Kubernetes and MicroK8s. MicroK8s 1.26 highlights include MicroK8s for Cluster API, new EKS-D tracks, an add-on ecosystem that expands with new partnerships, and new core add-ons, including the introduction of MinIO, a high-performance, S3-compatible object storage. Charmed Kubernetes 1.26 highlights include Charmed Open Policy Agent Gatekeeper bringing managed policies, Kube-OVN BGP support, Kube-OVN traffic mirroring, MetalLB enhancements, and a new default OS series.
Databricks announced the general availability of data lineage in Unity Catalog, available on AWS and Azure. With data lineage general availability, users can get high levels of stability, support, and enterprise readiness from Databricks for mission-critical workloads on the Databricks Lakehouse Platform. The offering provides a unified governance solution for data, analytics, and AI. Key features include automated real-time lineage; unified column and table lineage graph; tracking for notebooks, workflows, and dashboards; built-in security; and partner integrations.
Heartex announced the availability of Label Studio v1.7, the open-source data labeling platform. The latest release adds support for Terraform and improvements to Helm charts for Kubernetes to ease the deployment and management of Label Studio. New audio labeling features in version 1.7 include an advanced rendering engine that displays audio waveforms with a highly responsive and performant interface; granular, up-to-the-millisecond controls for fine-grained annotation control; and new, highly configurable UI that improves audio labeling efficiency and ergonomics.
Kensu announced enhancements to the Kensu platform, the 360 data observability solution. It allows data teams to monitor data at rest and in motion in real time across their data environments to cut the resolution time of data issues in half and restore trust in data. The AI-powered platform now leverages data observations inside and outside data pipelines to automatically suggest and maintain monitoring rules. In addition, the platform can automatically stop data applications when data expectations are not matching the AI-suggested rules.
Provectus announced the v0.9 release of its First Open-Source Data Discovery (ODD) and Observability Platform. The v0.9 release of the ODD Platform introduces an enhanced Alert Management feature, which allows one to stack alerts of the same type and automatically resolve existing open alerts based on the state of a data source. It also offers the ability to “switch” any entity into the maintenance mode, thus effectively blocking the ability to create new alerts.
Red Hat announced several enhancements to Red Hat Insights, its predictive analytics offering. This includes integrations for ServiceNow and Slack, as well as expanded monitoring capabilities to identify known threats in Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Rockset announced a native connector for Amazon Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (MSK) service, allowing AWS customers to deploy the real-time data stack in minutes. Developers and data teams can now use streaming data to build features such as real-time personalization, logistics tracking, IoT analytics, and more, with cloud-native simplicity and efficiency.
Salesforce announced the general availability of the DevOps Center to help teams release technology solutions faster. DevOps Center makes it easier to collaboratively build, test, and deploy custom solutions across Salesforce – including automations, applications, and experiences – that connect to real-time customer data.
SingleStore announced the general availability of its 8.0 release, which features faster analytics, an improved developer experience, and greater ease of use. Some of the new product capabilities include real-time analytics with new fast-seeking JSON for columns, a cloud-first approach the monitoring and observability; a new programmability and developer experience, and security and compliance via federated Authentication with OAuth. SingleStore Connect, the company’s cloud-based partner ecosystem, includes AWS, IBM, Intel, Looker (Google Cloud), SAS, TIBCO, and others.
Vercel announced that it is unlocking its Edge Functions for its customers. This is a step towards making serverless compute as fast as serving static assets from a Cloud Delivery Network (CDN). With this launch, Vercel has made Edge Functions faster, more flexible, and capable of even larger workloads. Key highlights include major infrastructure optimizations for improved performance, support for the cache-control standard for function responses, added ability to express region preference, added support for WebAssembly workloads, and increased function size limits for Enterprise and Pro teams.
Virtana announced the expansion of its Kubernetes strategy across the full portfolio of Virtana Platform. This release brings Infrastructure Performance Management (IPM) and Monitoring support for container environments using Virtana Platform. With the new IPM Kubernetes capabilities of Virtana Platform, users will have access to the same real-time, high-definition performance and dimensional information for containers that they enjoy today for legacy cloud infrastructure.
Partnerships, collaborations, and more
ClearML and Ultralytics have partnered to integrate ClearML’s open-source toolkit into Ultralytics’ YOLOv5 stack. With the ClearML integration, users can track every YOLOv5 training run in ClearML Experiment, version and connect datasets to models (ClearML Data), automate execution on local and remote cloud machines, get the very best mAP using ClearML Hyperparameter Optimization, deploy YOLOv5 models with state-of-the-art Triton serving engine (ClearML Serving), and build model performance dashboards in Grafana.
In other ClearML news, the company announced that the ClearML unified MLOps platform will be integrated with the latest NVIDIA TAO Toolkit 4.0 release. With the ClearML integration, practitioners get improved visibility into the training, experimentation, and evaluation processes built into the TAO Toolkit, and multiple teams within an organization can now re-use the same process.
CloudZero announced integrations with MongoDB, Databricks, and New Relic. Customers of these three vendors can now seamlessly combine this cost data with all other cloud expenditures, including major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), Snowflake, Kubernetes, and more. Customers can then organize spend to match their business and derive strategic insights to strengthen their unit economics.
data.world announced it has partnered with Databricks to offer greater visibility and understanding of data across the Databricks Lakehouse Platform and other data sources. This is accomplished through an integration with Databricks Unity Catalog, the platform’s unified governance solution. The integration expands on an existing technology partnership that enables Databricks customers to use data.world’s native virtualization capabilities to discover, explore, and experiment on data wherever it lives.
DH2i announced that DH2i’s DxEnterprise multi-platform smart high availability clustering software has earned Red Hat OpenShift certification on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. This certification verifies that DxEnterprise is a containerized solution that is fully supported on Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat Enterprise Linux to accelerate the delivery of intelligent applications across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Instabase announced the general availability of its Automation Platform for Unstructured Data in AWS Marketplace, a digital catalog of software listings from ISVs that makes it easy to find, buy, and deploy software that runs on AWS. Using AWS Marketplace, Instabase customers can access a streamlined procurement experience, including consolidated billing.
Jitterbit announced it has been named a BigCommerce Technology Partner, providing BigCommerce merchants access to Jitterbit’s automated order-to-fulfillment process. Using intelligent automation, Jitterbit connects BigCommerce to ERP systems without IT help or development work for implementation. Beginning today, BigCommerce customers can integrate Jitterbit’s platform through the BigCommerce App Marketplace.
KPMG Netherlands has partnered with Vectra to bolster its AI-driven behavioral attack intelligence with KPMG’s Cyber Security services. Specifically, KPMG has added the Vectra cloud-based threat detection and response platform to their Cyber Operations solutions and services. The Vectra solution gives clients 24/7 internal security monitoring in real time, leveraging Attack Signal Intelligence and AI-driven threat intelligence. These features provide high-fidelity alerts for efficacious and actionable security detection.
Precisely announced a partnership with OneShield. The collaboration means that customers of OneShield can now take advantage of Precisely’s EngageOne RapidCX solution for all aspects of customer communications, from design through to delivery.
SADA announced that three of its security solutions are now available on Google Cloud Marketplace. The product offerings will allow companies to implement 24/7 security models, improve security posture, and provide valuable data insights without expanding in-house technology teams. The product offerings include User and App Protection, Cloud Native Access Control, and Cloud Security Posture Management.
SQream announced that it has joined the Google Cloud Partner Advantage program as a Build Partner via their no-code ELT and analytics platform Panoply. This partnership allows users to purchase Panoply directly from the Google Cloud Marketplace. Customers can then set up a BigQuery instance within Panoply in just a few clicks and connect all of their business data for analytics and reporting.
SymphonyAI announced that it is expanding its role as a Microsoft partner with its Sensa product for detecting and preventing financial crime. The Sensa product, from the SymphonyAI Sensa vertical, is now available in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace.
Syniti and Cognizant announced a strategic alliance agreement between the two companies. Syniti will be Cognizant’s solution provider of choice for data transformation delivery in driving customers’ migrations to SAP S/4HANA. Syniti’s data management software, the Syniti Knowledge Platform (SKP) speeds migration to SAP S/4HANA by streamlining data transformation. As Cognizant expands its relationship with SAP, Syniti is serving as a core component to drive more data-led digital transformation.

The partnership meets the need for streamlined processes and data-driven technology in farming, especially as the farming demographic shifts to include younger, digital natives.
