MIT announced the MIT AI Hardware Program, a new academia and industry collaboration aimed at defining and developing translational technologies in hardware and software for AI and quantum computing. A collaboration between the MIT School of Engineering and MIT Schwarzman College of Computing, involving the Microsystems Technologies Laboratories and programs and units in the college, the cross-disciplinary effort aims to develop technologies that will deliver enhanced energy efficiency systems for cloud and edge computing.
Accenture has joined AI4BetterHearts, a global data collaborative founded by Microsoft and the Novartis Foundation that aims to help stakeholders— from policymakers to patients— make better decisions about heart health and improve the health of entire populations. AI4BetterHearts leverages heart health data from different sources, using artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced analytics to better understand the drivers of cardiovascular health, including health inequities, in large populations.
Snowflake announced the launch of the Retail Data Cloud, which unites Snowflake’s data platform, Snowflake, and partner-delivered solutions, and industry-specific datasets. The Retail Data Cloud empowers retailers, manufacturers, distributors, consumer packaged goods (CPG) vendors, and industry technology providers to leverage their own data, access new data, and seamlessly collaborate across the retail industry. Together, Snowflake and its ecosystem of partners can drive business agility, deliver exceptional, personalized customer experiences, and optimize operations for businesses across the sector.
SAP announced the availability of an experience-driven journey to process analytics. The new offering correlates experience data from user surveys (whether customer, supplier, or employee) with underlying IT systems, giving companies the ability to understand how best to optimize their end-to-end business processes for both operational excellence and customer experience. The journey to process analytics capabilities within SAP Signavio software recently completed beta testing with over 25 companies globally, with immediate availability to customers through the SAP Signavio Process Transformation Suite. The company also announced that SAP Signavio will be a brand of SAP, reflecting SAP’s commitment to this market segment.
Oracle announced that Oracle MySQL HeatWave now supports in-database machine learning (ML) in addition to the previously available transaction processing and analytics. MySQL HeatWave ML fully automates the ML lifecycle and stores all trained models inside the MySQL database, eliminating the need to move data or the model to a machine learning tool or service. Eliminating ETL reduces application complexity, lowers cost, and improves security of both the data and the model. HeatWave ML is included with the MySQL HeatWave database cloud service in all 37 Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) regions.
WSO2 announced the general availability of Choreo Digital Platform as a Service. The Choreo GA release helps teams take digital apps from ideation to production in days; adds side-by-side VS Code and graphical code editing, CIAM, marketplace, deep GitHub integration, and more. The all-inclusive platform abstracts away the complexity of cloud native infrastructure so that development teams can, for the first time, quickly create, compose, collaborate on, reuse, and deliver API-driven business logic.

Indico Data unveiled Indico 5, a major release of its AI-powered Unstructured Data Platform. Indico 5 addresses the rapidly growing market demand for software solutions that drive efficiency and accelerate automation and intelligent document processing (IDP) initiatives using unstructured data. New features of Indico 5 include automatic document unbundling, linked labels, staggered loop training, and universal document support.
Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, announced enhancements to its Aruba ESP (Edge Services Platform), with new functionality in Aruba Central to enable organizations to keep pace with rapidly changing business requirements. The new Aruba Central NetConductor allows enterprises to centralize the management of distributed networks with cloud-native services that simplify policy provisioning and automate network configurations in wired, wireless, and WAN infrastructures.
Lightbits announced that support for Lightbits will be included as part of OpenStack Yoga, the latest release of the OpenStack open standard cloud computing platform. With Lightbits, OpenStack clusters will have access to software-defined block storage that delivers cloud-native, high-performance, scale-out, and highly available NVMe/TCP storage. Further, Lightbits has committed to supporting open cloud environments by ensuring interoperability with and availability through all OpenStack future releases.
ScaleOut Software announced support for Redis clients in ScaleOut StateServer Version 5.11 as a community preview. With this release, Redis users can use the company’s distributed caching product to connect to a cluster of ScaleOut servers and execute Redis commands. This integration of Redis open-source software with ScaleOut StateServer simplifies cluster management, enabling seamless throughput scaling, and automating recovery from server and network outages.
Arize AI introduced the next generation of its ML observability platform. Included in the release are enhancements to platform features used every day by ML engineers, allowing teams to better monitor and identify drift, ensure data integrity, improve model performance, and leverage explainability.
Challenger announced the launch of Challenger Loop. A SaaS product, Loop brings transparency and clarity to the sales process by adding the customer perspective into sales performance. Key features of Loop include candid customer feedback, win/loss analytics, and live deal surveys to provide a 360-degree perspective on the quality of the experience and a built-in partnership with Medallia, which specializes in customer experience surveys featuring best-in-class natural language processing (NLP) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The OpenNMS Group announced the release of OpenNMS Meridian 2022. With this next major release, the fully open-source Meridian product, which is the optimized and stable version of the OpenNMS platform curated by The OpenNMS Group for production environments, now features improved security by removing requirements for privileged access, improved analytics through enhanced flow processing, simplified Minion communication, enhanced geolocation with IP addresses, and an expanded set of REST APIs
Canonical, the publisher of Ubuntu, announced the general availability of OpenStack Yoga on Ubuntu 22.04 Long Term Support (LTS) beta and Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. This new version of OpenStack (the 25th release) sets a foundation for next-generation, highly performant infrastructure using SmartNIC cards and integrating them with the Neutron Open Virtual Network (OVN) driver. With OpenStack network components running on SmartNICs, users benefit from lower latency, higher throughput, and better quality of services.
Swim announced Swim Continuum 4.1. The newly enhanced product introduces a new UI framework optimized for large-scale streaming applications and lets DevOps teams ensure the highest performance for event-driven applications. Swim Continuum 4.1 has been successfully deployed in production to analyze exabytes of streaming events. Its new, high-performance UI framework is able to continuously update the application UI with streaming data from millions of backend objects.
Aerospike announced two new deployments for the Aerospike Real-time Data Platform to maximize workflows. First, the certification of Red Hat OpenShift for Aerospike Kubernetes Operator 2.0 enables OpenShift customers to deploy Aerospike in a familiar and standardized environment. And second, Google Cloud Platform customers now have access to the Aerospike Cloud Managed Service to maximize and maintain their Aerospike Real-time Data Platform.

Intel announced an agreement to acquire Granulate Cloud Solutions, an Israel-based developer of real-time continuous optimization software. The acquisition of Granulate will help cloud and data center customers maximize compute workload performance and reduce infrastructure and cloud costs. Deal terms are not being disclosed.
GovCIO announced that it has partnered with Torch.AI to provide the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) with AI/ML technology to increase its unstructured data processing. Utilizing Torch.AI’s software platform Nexus, the combined team is fulfilling a need to identify the relevant data features within disparate DOD holdings. This platform enables the customer to rapidly use its complete data catalog, regardless of data format or delivery protocol, to strengthen the security enterprise of the department.
Solace announced that Singtel is offering Solace PubSub+ Event Broker as a service on Singtel’s Paragon, the industry’s all-in-one platform for 5G network, edge computing, and services orchestration. Customers can create network slices on-demand, deploy mission-critical 5G applications on Singtel’s multi-access edge compute (MEC), and access a robust ecosystem of applications and services like PubSub+ Event Broker with a click of a button.
Redpanda announced it is acquiring CloudHut, makers of Kowl, the popular web UI for streaming data platforms. For Kowl users, this acquisition creates a co-design of the future of streaming with deeply integrated Redpanda extensions like WebAssembly transforms, tiered storage data exploration, intelligent data rebalancing, node decommissioning, cluster expansion, scale to zero, ephemeral clusters, and more.
Gupshup announced the acquisition of Active.Ai, the conversational AI platform for digital financial services. Active.Ai utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) and conversational services to help banks, credit unions, capital markets, and insurance companies digitally engage with customers. These capabilities help customers interact with their money in real time, anywhere via voice, video, and text.
SensiML announced that it has partnered Direct Insight. Under the agreement, Direct Insight will provide technical sales, service, and engineering consultation for customers creating intelligent IoT products using SensiML’s Analytics Toolkit suite of AI development tools for the extreme edge. By adding the SensiML AI/ML development tools, Direct Insight is making it easy for developers to create ultra-low-power yet highly intelligent endpoints without needing large teams of data scientists or previous AI expertise.
