Why Aren’t Factories as Smart as They Could Be?
The benefits of smart manufacturing come not from making individual machines smarter, but from gaining continuous insights into, and control over every process, from the start of the supply chain to the end customer.
Unfortunately, many applications are built on “accidental architectures” that have evolved over the years on the factory floor. As a result, factories are not as smart as they could be. What’s needed are architectures engineered for efficiency, manageability, and scalability, to drive innovation forward.
