In this week’s real-time analytics news: partnerships and collaborations top the charts as companies and groups aim to make use of AI and cloud-native technologies easier.
Keeping pace with news and developments in the real-time analytics market can be a daunting task. We want to help by providing a summary of some of the items our staff came across each week. Here is a short list of some news from this week:
The World Meteorological Organization is participating in a new interdisciplinary Focus Group to contend with the increasing prevalence and severity of natural hazards with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). The International Telecommunications Union Focus Group on AI for natural disaster management will support global efforts to improve the understanding and modeling of natural hazards and disasters. Led by ITU in partnership with WMO and the UN Environment Programme, it will distill emerging best practices to develop a roadmap for international action in AI for natural disaster management.
Accenture and VMware announced an expanded partnership and the launch of a dedicated business group that will help organizations adopt a ‘cloud-first’ strategy. The Accenture VMware Business Group represents a new multi-year, multi-million-dollar investment from the two companies, which have a relationship spanning more than two decades. The new business group brings together professionals with deep expertise in hybrid cloud and cloud migrations, cloud-native, and application modernization and security across key industries. The group will help clients tap into the capabilities and elasticity of the cloud.
The OPC Foundation welcomed Amazon Web Services as the latest OPC Foundation member. Based on OPC Unified Architecture (UA) market acceptance and functionality, AWS adopted OPC UA to support the data connectivity challenges manufacturers face implementing Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Industry 4.0 initiatives. Specifically, AWS makes available OPC UA-enabled tools and a portfolio of services that extend cloud functionality into industrial operations. The tools enable manufacturers to ingest OPC UA-based data from industrial assets using AWS IoT Greengrass connectors into AWS IoT SiteWise or their IIoT applications on AWS.
NEC Corporation and ParityQC announced that they have started collaborating in the field of quantum annealing, a method of quantum computing. The collaboration entails NEC implementing the ParityQC Architecture, ParityQC’s paradigm on how to solve optimization problems on a quantum computer, into its own superconducting parametron quantum devices. This will pave the way for highly-scalable, practical quantum annealers capable of solving large-scale combinatorial optimization problems such as financial portfolio optimization and manufacturing planning. NEC aims to develop such quantum annealers for practical use by 2023.
Cleareye.ai announced it is collaborating with Microsoft on an AI platform. Cleareye.ai’s enterprise-ready platform will use Microsoft technology to power its products, starting with the PPP Loan Forgiveness Processing Engine, which will be powered by Microsoft Azure. The offering is a Microsoft Azure Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered document automation and rules reconciliation solution. It is designed for lenders who process forgiveness applications as part of the Small Business Administration’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), which provides direct incentives to small businesses to keep workers on the payroll during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bayestree Intelligence announced the General Availability of Sainapse 1.9, its enterprise AI product. Sainapse 1.9 powers up enterprise customer experience workflows end-to-end and offers multiple capabilities that are critical for companies striving to provide differentiated customer experience. With virtually zero code, minimal data pre-work, pre-built REST API connectors, Sainapse 1.9 ensures under a month go-live time.
Franz Inc., a supplier of graph database technology for AI Knowledge Graph solutions, announced AllegroGraph 7.1, which provides optimizations for deeply complex queries across FedShard deployments. The company says the solution makes complex reasoning up to 10X faster. AllegroGraph with FedShard allows infinite data integration through a patented approach unifying all data and siloed knowledge into an Entity-Event Knowledge Graph solution for Enterprise-scale analytics. AllegroGraph’s capabilities drive 360-degree insights and enable complex reasoning across enterprise-wide Knowledge Fabrics in healthcare, media, smart call centers, pharmaceuticals, financial services, and more.
Varada made available a new feature enabling data teams to accelerate, by 10x-100x, queries running on Trino clusters (formerly known as PrestoSQL) directly on the data lake. In addition to the option to deploy Varada as an independent data lake analytics platform, Varada can now be deployed alongside existing Trino clusters and seamlessly apply its dynamic and adaptive indexing-based acceleration technology. SQL queries can continue running as is, with no additional configurations. It is currently available on AWS and is compatible with all Trino and previous PrestoSQL versions.
Sisense announced Sisense Fusion. Optimized to bring actionable intelligence to users who might not already be steeped or experienced in data analytics, Sisense Fusion helps organizations infuse analytics everywhere, whether that is to drive operational efficiencies within the business or new revenue streams and stickiness within their customer and partner products. Sisense does this by going beyond the dashboard to allow people to build customized analytic experiences for delivering analytics to people – when and where they need them.
Anexinet Corporation announced a partnership with Amelia, an IPsoft Company to launch its newest kickstart: Conversational AI Strategy & Roadmap. The kickstart takes a company through ideation, design, and implementation. This three-week program jumpstarts an organization’s ability to elevate their customer experience and streamline processes by replicating human behavior via advanced automation bots.
