Dell Technologies announced new solutions to deal with the capture and analysis of time-sensitive data at the edge. The new offerings include new edge server designs, smaller modular data centers, enhanced telemetry management, and a streaming analytics engine. The solutions include:
- Dell EMC PowerEdge XE2420 server, which offers dense compute, robust security for edge environments
- Dell EMC Modular Data Center Micro 415, which brings the data center to far-reaching and rugged environments
- Dell EMC iDRAC9 Datacenter software, which offers remote access for a uniform, more secure server management experience from the edge to the core to the cloud

Algorithmia announced an update to its Enterprise platform. The platform, which allows data scientists and ML engineers to easily automate the DevOps, management, and deployment of AI/ML models in the language of their choice, now integrates with GitHub. By expanding its source code management capabilities, Algorithmia is making it easier for data scientists and ML engineers to organize code, track changes, collaborate with colleagues, and rapidly deliver high-quality AI-based applications, with the added benefits of GitHub in combination with Algorithmia.
The European Commission unveiled its ideas and actions for a digital transformation that works for all. The European data strategy and the policy options to ensure the human-centric development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) presented in the announcement are the first steps towards achieving multiple goals. Specifically, the actions are intended to enable a European society powered by digital solutions that put people first, open up new opportunities for businesses, and boost the development of trustworthy technology.
IBM announced that IBM Power Systems has been certified for the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud as a critical infrastructure platform provider for large SAP HANA systems, aiming to simplify the IT infrastructure for the managed, private cloud environment. The service will run on IBM POWER9-based IBM Power Systems E980 servers, which have the industry’s largest virtualized server scalability of 24TB for the SAP HANA database.
