Keysight Technologies demonstrated its newest 5G network emulation solutions at the company’s 5G Tech Connect event in San Francisco.
The new solutions will support 5G new radio, the global standard set by telecommunication association 3GPP.

Keysight customers can prototype and develop chipsets and devices under the new standard.
Earlier this year, Keysight launched two emulators, 5G Protocol R&D Toolset and 5G RF DVT Toolset. The emulators were two of the first to market that specialize in 5G wireless.
The emulators will also support advanced channel bandwidth, beamforming, 8CC aggregation and multi-gigabit end-to-end IP data rates.
Keysight is committed to supporting all updates to the global standards for 5G wireless, making it as easy as possible for customers to prototype and develop.
“We are pleased with our progress in the pre-standards phase of 5G and have built on that to offer solutions for New Radio,” said Kailash Narayanan, vice president and general manager.
“The early solution availability illustrates the benefits of our early collaborations with the market makers. Our end-to-end solutions, with support for sub-6GHz and mmWave testing, will help the development and deployment of 5G modems and devices to meet the challenge of varying global spectrum and interoperability requirements.”
The shape of 5G wireless is not set and a few major associations are working on standards.
At the same time, we continue to hear of ground-breaking speeds being achieved in lab tests, which may change the ambitions of network operators and telecommunications companies.
